A Friendly Reminder From Sullivan Dental Partners To Use Your Dental Benefits Before They Expire!

Having a good dental insurance policy can help you and your family get the dental care you need. That is, of course, assuming you take advantage of the benefits provided by your plan before they expire!

The benefits of many dental plans reset at the end of each calendar year. That makes this an ideal time to make sure that you get the most out of your dental insurance before ringing in the new year.

If you have dental benefits remaining, here are a couple of good ways to use them!

To Reduce the Cost of Necessary Treatments

If you’re in need of a particular treatment or procedure like a dental filling, a crown, or an implant, this is a great time to get the care you need! Depending on your remaining dental benefits, there’s a chance that your insurance will cover most or all of the bill!

Keep in mind that if your remaining benefits only partially cover the cost of a necessary procedure, you can look into having some of the work done on this side of New Year’s and waiting until we’ve rung in 2024 (and your dental benefits have reset) to have the procedure completed. It's not always possible but make sure to ask your dentist if your procedure(s) can be completed in multiple stages.

For the Vital Preventive Care You Need

If there’s no specific work you need done, using your remaining dental benefits for preventive care is an excellent idea. Preventive treatments like dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, x-rays, and oral exams are crucial to preserving the health of your teeth, gums, and their supporting structures.

Many plans cover these types of preventive procedures. Taking advantage of this can be to your long-term benefit. The resources required to deal with issues in their early stages are minimal compared with the time, cost, and discomfort associated with correcting more serious problems.
