Living With a Damaged Tooth Takes a Toll
A solution is closer than you think, and it doesn't have to take weeks to get there.
Delaying Treatment Has Real Consequences
Damage Spreads Quickly
A small crack today can reach the nerve, turning a simple crown into a root canal.
Infections Become More Likely
Bacteria enter through weakened enamel, creating complications that make treatment more involved.
Costs Rise Over Time
What a crown resolves now may require extraction and more extensive work later.
Neighboring Teeth Pay the Price
Structural changes in one tooth put added stress and wear on adjacent teeth.
Sensitivity Gets Harder to Ignore
Exposure to temperature and pressure increases as enamel continues to break down.
Fewer Options Stay on the Table
The longer a damaged tooth goes untreated, the more limited the restoration choices become.
Addressing the problem now means a simpler path, a faster result, and a tooth restored to full strength.
What Are Same-Day CEREC Crowns?
A crown is a custom-fitted cap placed over a damaged, decayed, or broken tooth to restore its original shape, strength, and appearance. Traditional crowns required two visits: one to prepare the tooth and fit a temporary, and a second weeks later once an outside lab finished the final restoration. CEREC technology eliminates that gap entirely. Using digital impressions and an in-office milling unit, a permanent ceramic crown is designed, fabricated, and placed in a single appointment, with no temporary crown and no waiting.
Patients receiving same-day CEREC crowns in Brentwood at Sullivan Dental Partners benefit from in-house control over every step of the process. Our digital design software creates restorations matched precisely to your bite and tooth color, and because fabrication happens on-site, there’s no back-and-forth with an outside lab. What you get is a well-fitted, natural-looking crown without adding extra appointments to your calendar.

Who Is a Good Candidate for CEREC Crowns?

Your Same-Day Crown Appointment, Step by Step
Examination and Planning
We begin with a thorough look at the affected tooth, including digital x-rays to assess the root and surrounding bone. This gives us everything we need to plan a crown that fits your bite accurately and matches your surrounding teeth. You'll understand exactly what's happening before any preparation begins.
Digital Impression
Instead of traditional putty impression trays, we use a small digital scanner to capture a precise 3D image of your tooth and bite in just a few minutes. The scan feeds directly into our design software, and you won't have to deal with the discomfort of conventional impressions. Most patients find this part easy and quick.
Crown Design and Milling
While you relax, our in-office milling unit fabricates your permanent ceramic crown on-site using the digital design. The crown is shaped and color-matched to blend with your natural teeth. The milling process takes far less time than most patients expect, and you stay comfortably in the office while it's completed.
Placement and Final
Once your crown is ready, we test the fit against your bite, make any fine adjustments, and bond it permanently into place. We check every angle to ensure it feels natural before you leave. You walk out with a fully finished, permanent restoration the same day you came in.

What to Expect After Your Crown Placement
First 24-48 Hours
Some mild sensitivity around the treated tooth is normal in the first day or two, particularly to temperature. Sticking to softer foods during this window is a good idea, and any discomfort typically responds well to over-the-counter pain relief. Most patients find this phase easier and shorter than they anticipated.
First Week
Sensitivity fades significantly for most patients within a few days as the tooth and surrounding gum tissue settle around the new crown. You may notice minor tenderness along the gumline near the restoration, which resolves on its own. By the end of the first week, most people are eating and functioning comfortably without restriction.
